Doctoral Program Thesis Distinction

Created seven years ago, the "Doctoral Program Thesis Distinction" aims to highlight research work of exceptional quality.

Every year, a distinction is awarded to a selection of very high quality theses to recognize the doctoral candidates’ research work and their scientific merit. For each doctoral program, the nominated graduates are selected on the basis of their oral exam. Then the program committee evaluates the nominees and awards the best 8%.

For this eighth edition, 35 of the 459 doctoral candidates who defended their thesis over the academic year 2023-2024 have been awarded. These laureates received a certificate as well as an engraved card holder offered by EPFL.
