DICOBAT Online: New Access to the Technical Vocabulary of Building

The online version of the reference building dictionary DICOBAT Online expands the range of resources offered by the EPFL Library in the fields of architecture and construction.
EPFL students, researchers, and professors now have access - both on campus and remotely (via VPN connection) - to the online version of the reference building dictionary DICOBAT Online.
This database is intended for building professionals (architects, project managers, contractors, cost consultants, etc.) as well as anyone seeking a reliable and shared technical vocabulary.
Content & Features
The database includes more than 17,000 annotated definitions (in French) covering all building trades.
It contains nearly 4,000 illustrations to help visualize the terms.
An English–French glossary of over 10,000 terms is available for bilingual exchanges and documents.
References to standards, French DTU (Documents Techniques Unifiés – Unified Technical Documents), and other regulatory texts are included for certain terms.
The VisuelBAT visual index enables easier searching through illustrations.
