His novel work on postsynthetic rapid heat treatment (RHT) which drastically improves the carbon capture performance of the ZIF‐8 membrane has been published in Advanced Materials!
The lattice flexibility of the MOF frameworks is a bottleneck for separation by size-sieving using polycrystalline MOF membranes. Using a facile rapid heat treatment, a lattice distortion in ZIF-8 membranes is observed which increases the lattice stiffness leading to an unprecedented CO2/CH4 and CO2/N2 separation.
