Course and exam support for disabled students

We received and processed 40 new applications between September and November, bringing the total number of requests currently being handled to 119. Further work was made on special procedures: we have introduced new materials for students with specific handicaps and we are in the process of outlining the general guidelines. We are also continuing to meet with specialists in this area. Other universities and research organizations facing similar challenges have contacted us to discuss our decision-making process and our methods for establishing special procedures.
We tested a new system during the winter exams whereby certain students with learning or motor difficulties were given tablet computers to use. This initiative entailed working closely with the Vice Presidency for Information Systems, Educational Affairs, Student Affairs and the students’ teachers. We will soon review the results of this test and make any necessary changes to the system.
