Prof. de Rassenfosse has been awarded a new grant by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation in collaboration with Cornell University to continue his work on the IPRoduct project.

This project aims to collect information on patent-protected products from unstructured web data. It is an ambitious venture that will unlock a large number of research questions in the field of Economics & Management of Innovation as well as in Intellectual Property Policy. Evaluators of the grant proposal were particularly excited by the community approach to building the database to ensure its long-term success. The EPFL team develops the platform and the algorithms to process the raw data as much as possible and relies on users to validate and enrich the data. In doing so, users collect credits that allow them to download the final data.
