The research article of Pauline Skigin and Perrine Robin entitled - “Grafting-from” and “Grafting-to” Poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide) Functionalization of Glass for DNA Biosensors with Improved Properties - has just been published in Polymers. We are also grateful to Dr Alireza Kavand and Dr Mounir Mensi for their key contribution to this work.

In this study, two conjugation pathways were developed for the immobilization of DNA probes on glass substrates via the thermoresponsive polymer Poly(N-isopropyl acrylamide) to produce sensing surfaces with high hybridization densities and antifouling properties. The resulting functionalized materials present promising properties for the development of DNA biosensors targeting analytes in complex biological samples.
