Congratulations to our new Doctor of Science, Dr. Mou Lin

Last Thursday marked the public defense of Mou Lin, in which he presented his doctoral thesis entitled "Wind Turbine Wakes in Active Yaw Control: Numerical and Theoretical Studies."
In his Ph.D. thesis, Dr. Lin investigated the topic of wind turbine yaw control using large-eddy simulations, performed in-depth comparisons with state-of-the-art experimental data to compare different turbine models in predicting power and wake flow, evaluated the blade structural response of an array of wind turbines subjected to active yaw control, and studied several static and dynamic yaw control strategies showing the potential power increase at the wind farm level.
