New publication in Nature in which we describe two DNA defence modules in the causative agent of the seventh pandemic of cholera, the bacterium Vibrio cholerae

Congratulations to Milena Jaskólska and David W. Adams for the publication of their study 'Two defence systems eliminate plasmids from seventh pandemic Vibrio cholerae' .

The paper by Jaskólska*, Adams* & Blokesch [*shared first authorship] was published online ahead of print in Natureon 06 April 2022 and is accompanied by a Research Briefing by Melanie, a News & Views preview on our work by Didier Mazel (Institute Pasteur), and a discussion of the new findings in Nature's weekly podcast [min 12:17 onwards]!

The work also led to a priority claim/patent application [EP21183501.2] filed with the European Patent Office in 2021.
