Our colleagues and former EPFL-LTS5 PhD students Dr Alessandra Griffa and Dr Elda Fischi-Gomez both received a Swiss SNF post-doc mobility grant, that will allow them to do a post-doc in two outstandig research institutions.
Dr Alessandra Griffa received her PhD from EPFL in May 2015 for her thesis entitled "The topology of structural brain connectivity in diseases and spatio-temporal connectomics", supervised by Prof. Jean-Philippe Thiran and Dr Patric Hagmann (CHUV Lausanne). She is currently a post-doctoral researcher with the Department of Radiology of the CHUV in Lausanne. Her post-doc mobility project is entitled "A rich-club network perspective on brain processes" and will be conducted at the Rudolf Magnus Institute for Neuroscience, University Medical Center (UMC), Utrecht, the Netherlands, under the supervision of Prof. Martijn van den Heuvel.
Dr Elda Fischi-Gomez received her PhD from EPFL in October 2015 for her thesis entitled "Connectomics across development: towards mapping brain structure from birth to childhood", supervised by Prof. Jean-Philippe Thiran. She is currently a research fellow at the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, USA. Her post-doc mobility project will allow her to stay there, working on a project entitled "Improving SNR in ultra-high spatial and angular resolution diffusion imaging techniques", under the supervision of Prof. Kawin Setsompop.
