SOIL had an eventful week: Emma passed her candidacy exam and we welcomed a new member for the summer: Alice Giorgetti. Congratulations, Emma and welcome, Alice!
Emma defended her research plan last Thursday and passed her candidacy exam with flying colors. We were lucky to have Tobias Bölscher as external expert for the exam. Tobias joined us from the French National Institute for Agriculture, Food, and Environment (INRAE) in Paris.
Alice joined us for a summer internship. She will be working on various SOIL projects, including our project on carbon cycling in Alpine soils for which we have some exciting field work planned.
