Congratulation to Issam for his candidacy

Issam is developing a two-stage turbocompressor for domestic heat pump applications. This machine, supported by gas-lubricated bearings, has the potential to drastically improve the efficiency at which heating is provided in our houses. The engineering of such a device is highly multi-disciplinary and computationally demanding. To achieve an optimal design, research is carried out on two fronts. Calibration methodologies to improve the accuracy of models for turbocompressor aerodynamics are investigated. In addition, analyses on the robustness of the design against manufacturing deviations aim to highlight the future of this technology in terms of industrialization.
