Konstantin aims to identify the impact of real-gas effects on compressor and power cycles design operating close to the saturation conditions and/or close to the critical point. His goal is to develop numerical models to study real gas effects within power cycles and turbomachinery. CFD data will be used to adapt/infer loss correlations for compressors to account for real gas effects. These efforts aim to shine light on the complex nature of real gas effects present in the supercritical phase. Finally, unified design guidelines for supercritical turbomachinery will be devised.
