Communication tactics for managing relationships

The Doctoral School and the EPFL Career Center have joined forces to develop a new transversal skills course for EPFL doctoral candidates.
In this 3-hour course, reserved for PhD candidates, you will learn lots of actionnable tools to become better at :
- Influencing and convincing
- Managing difficult communication situations, such as giving negative feedback, declining a request, de-escalating emerging conflicts
- Ensuring the quality of decisions, in particular through a better understanding of cognitive biases
- Taking advantage of the stress response
All tools will be evidence-based and backed in science.

The course will be followed by a 2-hour feeadback session on 14 March (09 - 11h) when you will be able to discuss the results you obtained by practicing in the field. Attendance at both sessions is mandatory.
