"Collecting, Organizing, Trading Big Data" STS Meeting 20-22 February

The Swiss STS Meeting 2014, organized by the STS-CH association and supported by the CDH, will take place from the 20th to the 22nd of February at the University of Lausanne.
The topic of this year's STS Meeting will be "Collecting, Organizing, Trading Big Data". The meeting will analyze the effects of big data in human and life sciences as well as in the development of new technologies from a historical, ethnographical and critical perspective. The speakers will address the impact, application, promises and controversies related to them.
Keynote speakers:
- Anne Beaulieu, University of Groningen
- Rebecca Lemov, Harvard University
- Sabina Leonelli,University of Exeter
- Bruno J. Strasser, University of Geneva
- Aaro Tupasela, University of Helsinky
Two roundtables will also bring together big data experts.
