Have you heard of the legendary “flying sharks“? Were you at the last CLIC IC School dinner? Do you have questions regarding your studies and student life in general? Do you have any ideas or suggestions on how to liven things up? CLIC here!

CLIC is the student association for the School of Computer and Communication Sciences. Our goal is to bring students together by organizing events (e.g. Christmas breakfast), setting up a LAN, building a team to represent the IC School at the 10km of Lausanne running event. “We also coach freshers,“ explains CLIC President Christopher Chiche. Indeed, CLIC works closely with coaches – previous year students – and takes part in most of their events, guided tours or ski weekends.

But that’s not all: several CLIC members are class representatives and attend various committee meetings within the IC School. CLIC is therefore a good sounding board to express your mood, observations or questions regarding how the school works. “We offer all sorts of advice, particularly on how to raise money for a study trip.”
CLIC is also actively involved in major EPFL events, including Balelec or Vivapoly (under the barIC banner).

CLIC’s flagship event is the School of Computer and Communication Sciences’ dinner. The event includes a show, contest and musical grooves by DJ EntchAka (A.K.A. Mattia Franscella, third-year student). The aim is to create a sense of unity within the IC School and enable students from all classes to get to know one another. The event draws 250 people each year, including professors. “This event is greatly appreciated because it offers a unique occasion where everyone can sit around the same table. And the evening would not be complete without the “flying sharks”, which are remote-controlled helium balloons that people try to control in the air.”

CLIC is always on the lookout for new members. If you are motivated, full of ideas and would like to commit to the IC School, don’t delay, CLIC today!

Something to add? “We would like to thank Dean Vetterli, Mrs. Dal Mas and her team, Mrs. Lori, Mr. Benz and everyone who helped to organize the last CLIC IC School dinner!”
