Clean Hydrogen EU Call 2024 - GEM success

GEM participated in last year’s Clean Hydrogen EU Call 2024.
The total number of proposals was 151, out of which 21 were eventually granted (14%) - H2 Valleys not counted.
GEM is a partner in 4 out of the 21 granted projects : 3 in alcaline water electrolysis and 1 in PEM fuel cells.

Competition was like never before: only projects scoring 14/15 or 14,5/15 were granted. GEM was a partner in a 5th project that scored 14/15 but which was eventually not granted. This success further strengthens GEM's reputation and track record as EPFL’s most successful lab in Horizon2020 and HorizonEurope in terms of granted EU projects. In 3 of the 4 projects Prof Manuele Margni, specialised in Life Cycle Analyses at the neighbouring HESSO, is involved as partner, strengthening as well his expertise as most successful HESSO lab in HorizonEurope. These 2024 joint projects will further advance game-changing anionic exchange membrane water electrolysis stacks and automotive fuel cell stacks.
