CIRCA DIEM - "Le Temps"
EPFL and HEAD in full light in Seoul
The magazine "Le Temps" devotes an article to Prof. Marilyne Andersen and the installation CIRCA DIEM, presented at the Seoul Architecture and Urbanism Biennale 2021 (SBAU 2021).
This cylinder, 6 m high and 4 m in diameter, made by the Laboratory of Integrated Performance in Design (LIPID) and the Graphic and Geometric Computing Laboratory (GCM) of EPFL, in collaboration with the Haute école d'art et de design de Genève (HEAD), allows us to explore, through state-of-the-art technology, the effect of light on our urban lives. Our exposure to light has a significant impact on our health, on the quality of our sleep or immune system, and on our alertness. This structure gives us access to a reinterpretation of the experience of a day in the city. Twenty-four hours on Earth… in seven minutes.
