CICE 2018 Award for Best Paper

A contribution co-authored by PhD Ardalan Hosseini (supervisors, Profs. A. Nussbaumer, RESSLab and M. Motavalli, EMPA) was elected best paper by the International Institute for FRP in Construction (IIFC) at the conference CICE2018 in Paris. The paper is entitled: APPLICATION OF PRE-STRESSED UN-BONDED CFRP FOR STRENGTHENING OF METALLIC STRUCTURES. It reviews the recent prestressing systems for strengthening of steel members, especially for application to existing old steel bridges, developed at EMPA with the collaboration of EPFL-RESSLab. This is the most prestigious award that one can receive in the field of FRP composites in construction.
