2025 was another great year for the CHEMINA team group retreat!

CHEMINA continues its tradition of hosting an annual group retreat to promote both scientific exchange and team bonding! For the first half of the day, we focused on learning and teaching new scientific concepts. First, each group member did background reading on a method of electrochemical or optical characterization relevant to the lab and taught a 5 minute presentation to the rest of the team on how to use the technique. After lunch, team member Maxime hosted a workshop on an introduction to using Blender for creating scientific animations and illustrations.

In the afternoon, we switched to fun, non-scientific experiences! The team took personality tests and took turns guessing each others results. We then did an AMAZING escape room at Trip Trap Geneva! We ended the evening with a fun dinner out.

Finally, our team retreat was concluded with another new tradition, a Friendsgiving hosted by Emily. Each team member brought a meaningful dish to them to share with the team and we followed the American holiday tradition of sharing what we were thankful for. Thank you to team members Alex and Jessica for helping plan this group retreat and to everyone on the team for their generosity and energy!
