Our project, Aptamer-based Wireless In Vivo Neuromodulator Sensors (APTAWINS), has officially begun!
The CHEMINA lab is excited to introduce our newest endeavor, APTAWINS – a cutting-edge, multidisciplinary project supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation SNSF and the ANR, the French National Research Agency.
Our goal is to develop aptamer-based wireless in vivo neuromodulator sensors. This technology will enable wireless measurements of multiple neuromodulators simultaneously in the brain using transistors. We envision developing a new tool that will empower neuroscience labs worldwide to help advance our understanding of brain function and disorders such as Parkinson’s disease.
This ambitious 4-year project brings together a truly transdisciplinary team uniting EPFL (Switzerland) with Bordeaux INP and CNRS (France). Within the first months of initiating this project, we welcomed team leads Damien Thuau, Clémentine Bosch-Bouju, and Denys Nikolayev, with other team members, to visit our lab. During the visit, we worked together to define key milestones, strategize next steps, run experiments, and exchange know-how. Of course, not forgetting to enjoy good food and wine together. We are super motivated to see how far we can take this project with this excellent team!
