In a night dedicated to food and sustainability, Sara gave a talk on sustainable agriculture... and its many shades of green!

The Pint of Science is an annual international science festival that brings researchers to local bars or cafes across more than 400 cities worldwide to share the latest discoveries in science.

This year, during a night in Lausanne dedicated to the sustainability of the food system, Sara gave a talk titled: "Many shades of green: the quest for sustainable agriculture".

With 10 billion people projected to live on Earth by 2050, agricultural systems will face tremendous pressure to meet the growing food demand of an increasing and wealthier population. An integral part of this challenge is to address the concomitant concerns for land and water degradation and the impacts on and from climate change. In this talk, Sara dived into some of the many environmental impacts of agricultural production and discussed recent solutions proposed to concurrently ensure food security, mitigate climate change, and cope with predicted future changes while preserving environmental resources.
