In 2012, Ms. Kuyper was hired as CFO of the International Olympic Committee, where her responsibilities included the financial management of the London Olympics. After completing a PED (Program for Executive Development) at IMD, she joined the Federal Statistical Office in 2015 as deputy director and head of International Affairs and Resources. In this position, she helped reorganize and improve management processes and support functions.
Ms. Kuyper will bring a number of important strengths to EPFL thanks to her extensive experience in finance, strategy, change management, controlling and corporate governance, as well as her expertise in the private and public sectors.
The new Vice Presidency for Finances (VPFI)
EPFL’s financial management has become increasingly complex as a result of the school's growth and expansion and its many sources of financing. The new VPFI is an independent vice presidency that will be responsible for EPFL’s finances, working closely with the other vice presidencies and all EPFL schools. It will support the financial planning process to ensure EPFL makes optimal use of resources in order to carry out its missions, and it will take over the task of implementing the processes and rules necessary for effective financial governance. It will also be in charge of financial risk management, the internal control system and financial management audits.
Together with the Vice Presidency for Human Resources and Operations (VPRHO), headed by Etienne Marclay, and the Vice Presidency for Information Systems (VPSI), led by Edouard Bugnion, the new Vice Presidency for Finances will provide EPFL with the top-notch administrative support it needs to achieve its core missions of training, research and technology transfer.
