Best talk award at the EDMX Research Day awarded to Bingqing Cheng

Congratulations to Bingqing Cheng, who won the best talk award at the Materials Research Day 2017, with a presentation on "Bridging the Gab Between Atomistic and Meso-scale Models of Homogeneous Nucleation".
Nucleation is a key step in bulk phase transitions, but experimental studies are notoriously difficult. Atomistic simulations make it possible to investigate this phenomenon at the nanoscale. Bingqing Cheng, a doctoral student at the Laboratory of Computational Science and Modelling (COSMO) discussed a framework she has developed to map molecular-level insight to the macroscopic models that are crucial to perform simulations and predictions at the meso-scale.
