Dr. Franz-Josef Haug (HTPC group leader from EPFL PV-Lab) won the best poster award at the SiliconPV 2023 with his poster named 'Surface Recombination Velocity of the Si/SiOx Interface in Tunnel-Oxide'. Congratulations!
Short summary of the study
- Fireable p-and n-type passivating contacts are presented.
- A range of thermal budgets, including conditions of screen-printed metallization (few s at ~800°C) are investigated.
- Above 600°C, bulk defects are formed, especially in FZ wafers. Kinetic of hydrogen passivation from a SiNx:H layer is fast for surface defects and slow of bulk defects
