Best paper/abstract award for EESD at the 1st International Conference on Recent Advances in Civil and Earthquake Engineering

The abstract and presentation "Seismic testing of adjacent interacting masonry structures" by Igor Tomić, Katrin Beyer and project partners (Andrea Penna, Matthew DeJong, Christoph Butenweg, Antonio Correia, Paulo Candeias, Ilaria Senaldi, Gabriele Guerrini, Daniele Malomo) has been awarded the best paper/abstract award at 1st International Conference on Recent Advances in Civil and Earthquake Engineering, held online on 8th October 2021 from the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar, Pakistan.

The presentation describes a large scale bidirectional shake-table test performed on double-leaf stone masonry aggregate with timber floors, as well as the Blind prediction competition with participants coming both from the academia and industry. The test was performed at LNEC laboratory in Lisbon, Portugal on November 2020 and gave a valuable experimental data on the behaviour of stone masonry aggregates.
