Bahar Haghighat is the winner of the 2019 Gilbert Hausmann PhD Award
Bahar Haghighat won the 2019 Gilbert Hausmann PhD Award for her pioneering contributions to the design, control, and modeling of self-assembling mechatronic systems.
Bahar Haghighat’s thesis has been rewarded with the 2019 Gilbert Hausmann PhD Award; only about 2% of the annual theses produced at EPFL receive one of the seven possible recognitions for PhD theses. Bahar Haghighat wins this prestigious prize for her pioneering contributions to the design, control, and modeling of self-assembling mechatronic systems. In particular, for having proposed provable algorithms able to produce automatically control rulesets directly deployable on real miniature water-floating robotic modules, and capable of generating a targeted structure through self-assembly.
