Arts & Sciences collaboration and theater play

IVRL collaborated with La Grange (UNIL) and the artistic team of Marielle Pinsard. The team of artists will perform a work-in-progress performance of their future play "Il était une fois la neige", in French, at the local theater of UNIL, La Grange, on Saturday, March 29th, 2025.
As part of an Arts & Sciences collaboration organized by La Grange (UNIL), the artistic team of Marielle Pinsard visited our lab in January 2024 to learn about algorithms and images. Together, we shared knowledge and experience about Game of Life and their expansion to texture generation (NCA - Yitao Xu, Ehsan Pajouheshgar), comics images (Dr. Deblina Bhattacharjee, Dr. Bahar Aydemir), image denoising and noise generation (Dr. Raphael Achddou, Liying Lu), deepfakes (Daichi Zhang), as well as image generation from noise (represented by “neige” "snow") with Diffusion Models (Martin Nicolas Everaert).
The team of artists will perform a work-in-progress performance of their future play "Il était une fois la neige", in French, at the local theater of UNIL, La Grange, on Saturday, March 29th, 2025. Some of the visuals of the performance will be created with Diffusion Models, in collaboration with Martin Nicolas Everaert from our lab. The March 29th performance ("Écrire avec des algorithmes") is a work-in-progress. The final play ("Il était une fois la neige - Le soulèvement des machines") will be shown at La Grange in January 2026.
