Arnau Català successfully passed his candidacy exam

Arnau is working on the numerical and experimental investigation of gas-lubricated foil bearings (GFBs). Over the past year, he has laid the groundwork for his research, which aims to push the boundaries of current numerical modeling techniques and provide robust experimental validation. This four-year project will culminate in the development of a fast surrogate model, paving the way for the reliable and efficient design of GFBs supported rotors.
