Advancing Switzerland’s Technological Capabilities.
Armasuisse Science and Technology (S+T) is the technology center of the Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport (DDPS), is responsible for ensuring Switzerland's technological security. S+T conducts research across various domains, including cyberspace, data science, reconnaissance, surveillance, communication, and electromagnetic protection.

Armasuisse Science and Technology (S+T) drives innovation through eight specialized research programs, each addressing critical domains essential for Switzerland's defence and security. Researchers interested in contributing to those research programs are encouraged to contact the respective program manager directly.

For more information on the research programs and to connect with program managers (contact details are available at the bottom of each program's webpage), visit the Armasuisse Research Management webpage.

1.Reconnaissance and Surveillance: Develops advanced ISTAR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance) capabilities using state-of-the-art sensors and situational awareness tools.

2.Communications: Enhances robust, secure communication systems to ensure reliability and interoperability in complex environments.

3a. Secure Cyberspace: Focuses on cybersecurity measures to protect critical infrastructure and systems from evolving threats.

3b.Data Science: Leverages AI, machine learning, and analytics to support data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency.

4.Impact, Protection, and Safety: Evaluates and improves the safety and resilience of systems and infrastructures against physical threats.

5&6.Unmanned and Mobile Systems: Advances autonomous and semi-autonomous technologies for land, air, and maritime operations.

7. Technology Foresight: Identifies and evaluates emerging technologies like quantum computing and AI to prepare for future challenges.

8 .Space Research (FoPro Space): Develops capabilities in satellite communication, Earth observation, and space situational awareness to address challenges in the space domain.

Each program is guided by experts, offering opportunities for collaboration and funding to researchers seeking to contribute to these fields.
