Dr. Roman Makhnenko will become an assistant professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).
Roman will join the geotechnical group and he is planning to rejuvenate the rock mechanics program at the UIUC. Roman has been an SCCER-SoE sponsored postdoctoral researcher at LMS for three years and he is working on developing testing methods for rock involved in geological CO2 storage.
