Using fMRI data acquisition combined with VR techniques, Andreea will investigate the neural coupling between autobiographical episodic memory and self-consciousness.

Andreea received a BSc. In Computer Science from Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and a joint MSc. in Computational Neuroscience from Technical University Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Berlin Center for Computational Neuroscience.

While being broadly interested in memory and information processing in humans, Andreea explored a variety of research topics and techniques in collaboration with multiple research groups. During her work as a research assistant at Distributed Cognition and Memory Lab lead by Dr. Thomas Christophel, she researched semantic distractors in visual working memory and the application of categorical and continuous encoding models in fMRI analysis. At Neural Dynamics of Visual Cognition Lab lead by Prof. Radoslaw Cichy, Andreea worked on visual and semantic processing of short videos in humans using DNN-based encoding models. And, at Animal Physiology Lab of Prof. Michael Brecht, she also studied the myelination of the elephant brain.

Welcome to the Lab Andreea!
