Andrea Ablasser, Professor at EPFL, has been awarded the ACTERIA Early Career Research Prize in Immunology.

Sponsored by the European Federation of Immunological Societies, the ACTERIA Prizes consist of four awards given to the best doctoral theses defended in the past three years, as well as to the best early career research work by investigators with up to ten years postdoctoral experience in the fields of immunology and allergology.

Following her nomination by the Nominated by the German Society for Immunology (DGfI) Professor Andrea Ablasser has won the 2018 Prize for Early Career Research Prize in Immunology. Ablasser’s research focuses on identifying factors involved in the intracellular recognition of pathogen-derived molecular patterns, and elucidating the signaling events proceeding from them.

The ACTERIA Doctoral Thesis Prizes carry a cash award of €15,000, while the ACTERIA Early Career Research Prizes amount to €30,000 each. In addition, awardees automatically qualify for three-year research grants of up to €50,000 annually.

The 2018 ACTERIA prizes were awarded at the Fifth ECI in Amsterdam.
