Alexandra Turrini joins the Laboratory for Quantum Magnetism (LQM)

Alexandra has wanted to be a physicist since she was a little girl, and to that end pursued an undergraduate degree in intensive physics at Yale University. She then traveled to Switzerland to get her master's in Energy Science and Technology at ETH Zurich, where she realized she enjoyed studying crystalline materials while working on disordered quantum dots. She stayed in Switzerland for her doctoral work, studying novel magnetic properties in the rare earth pyrochlores using both experimental and theoretical methods at the Paul Scherrer Institute/University of Geneva.
