Akash Koppa and Sebastián Vivero join CHANGE!
As a Postdoc in the lab, Akash will work on the development of hybrid modeling farmeworks for ecohydrological applications.
As a Technician, Sebastián will be in charge of setting up monitoring campaigns and conducting drone surveys across several field sites in Valais.
Akash earned his PhD in Civil Engineering at the University of California Los Angeles with a thesis titled ‘Improved hydrologic forecasting and hydropower planning in data scarce regions using satellite-based remote sensing’. After his PhD, he worked as a Postdoctoral researcher at the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research (Leipzig, Germany) and at the Hydro-Climate Extremes Lab (Ghent University, Belgium).
Sebastián earned his PhD in Physical Geography at EPFL, with a focus on mountain geomorphology, geomatics/remote sensing, and field logistics. Currently, he is also working as a senior researcher at the Department of Geosciences, University of Fribourg, Switzerland.
Welcome to the lab, Akash and Sebastián!
