The new release of Akantu is offcialy out, with some awaited new features such as cohesive elements, continuum damage and contact algortihms

If you missed the first release, Akantu is an open-source object-oriented finite element code developped at the LSMS (Computations Solid Mechanics Laboratory). It is focused on continuum solid mechanics modeling. And it is mainly used to model fragmentation and contact problems.

The new key features of this release 2.2 are:

- Cohesive elements

- Continuum damage laws in local and non-local

- Plasticity laws

- Contact algorithms

- Strucutral mechanics elements

- Heat transfer formulation
