IBOIS is the Laboratory for Timber Constructions of the Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne. Their research tends to change the traditional image of wood and increase its consumption in the field of construction. If functional industrial products already exist it appears that the new timber products are not sufficiently exploited as structural elements. The research is moving to a monolithic timberconception, developing wood/wood connectors - without nails or glue - to facilitate the assembly and disassembly of the constructions.
