EPFL, CSEM and EMPA join their force to target 28-30% of efficiency at the industrial scale by using perovskite on silicon solar cells.

The "Power" project, funded by SNSF Bridge grant, aims at reducing the cost of solar electricity by increasing the efficiency of the solar cells. A promising solution is to add a coating made of perovskite structure on top of a high efficiency silicon solar cell. The primary focus of the "Power" project is to achieve the up-scaling of such concept which is currently limited to the lab-scale. The added value of the Bridge programm is to gather applied reasearcher from various horizon around a common goal of bringing such technology to the market.
