EPFL opens a position as tenure-track assistant professor for the Chair on Sustainable Materials

The School of Engineering (STI) of EPFL has opened a position for a tenure-track assistant professor who will hold the new Chair for Sustainable Materials research, within the Institute of Materials. This position is financed by, among others, Nestlé, SIG and Logitech who have pledged CHF 5 million over ten years to sponsor this new chair at EPFL.

The chair will develop a new research program on sustainable and environment-friendly materials, addressing in particular the challenge of packaging. Possible research areas of the new chair may include critical questions such as recyclable materials, high performance barrier papers, life cycle-aware design of materials, as well as bio-based and bio-degradable materials.

EPFL will independently lead the recruitment process for the Chair.
