A new SNSF research grant on energy piles

The Swiss National Science Foundation has funded the Laboratory for Soil Mechanics for a new research project focusing on the cyclic thermo-mechanical behaviour of energy piles. The ultimate goal of this project is to administer a thorough knowledge on the response of energy piles to daily and seasonal cyclic thermal actions, through an exhaustive experimental and numerical campaign. A post-doc (Dr. Melis Sutman) and a PhD candidate (Mrs. Elena Ravera) will be involved in this project.
