EPFL Sustainable Campus is joining forces with the Biel-based start-up ENUU to launch a free-floating electric vehicle pilot project on campus from Monday 7 May to Friday 1 June.
In recent years, the EPFL campus has become a testing ground for the mobility of tomorrow. In the past, students and staff have been able to experiment with autonomous shuttles and self-service bicycles.
Today, EPFL Sustainable Campus is joining forces with the Biel-based start-up ENUU to set up a pilot project for free-floating electric vehicles that will take place from 7 May to 1 June.
The particularity of these vehicles called INizietto? Easy to handle and with a speed of 30km/h, ENUU vehicles do not require a driving licence and can be used on roads and cycle paths.
The objectives of this project are to evaluate the level of service of the vehicles and the reservation App, as well as to study the cohabitation of these means of transport with soft modes.
The three ENUU electric vehicles will be made available free of charge to the EPFL community at Avenue Piccard, in front of the BP building (at the entrance of the reprography) and the BS building (on the UNIL side). An information and familiarisation day is scheduled for Monday 7 May in front of the Post Office in the BI building.
Those interested in participating in the project are invited to register by email at campus-durable@epfl.ch. Test participants will be asked to evaluate the service via a questionnaire and a personal interview.
