The light was on last weekend! On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 November 2022, the EPFL campus in Lausanne hosted the 10th edition of the science festival Scientastic.
As the sun was shining, more than 14'000 people, children, teenagers and adults, came to EPFL last weekend to take part in Scientastic, the School's science festival organized by the Science Outreach Department

How does light interact with matter? Which chemical reaction triggered by light darkens our glasses? What is fluorescence? These are some of the questions that were answered at the Espace Comment ça marche?, a space where children and adults could see, touch, experiment and ask questions. Technological advances and research projects were presented by EPFL professors and researchers at the research booths and during the conferences. The event was an opportunity for an excellent dialogue between the EPFL scientific community and the general public who was eager to discover and learn. The chemistry and physics shows, which presented scientific basics in a playful way, delighted the public. More than 4'000 children and adults participated in the workshops, on the theme of light. Many other activities presented by EPFL and its partners were also a great success.

EPFL would like to thank the public, keen on discovering science and research, who came to EPFL.
