2024 Physics Doctoral Thesis Award
Established in 2014, the Physics Doctoral Thesis Award (EDPY Prize) is granted every year to three PhD students whose theses demonstrate exceptional contributions to the field, marked by significant advancements in physics.
The Doctoral Program in Physics is thrilled to announce the following 2024 laureates who have been honored with the prize:
- Hugo Cui (L. Zdeborová) - Topics in statistical physics of high-dimensional machine learning
- Guanhao Huang (T. Kippenberg) - Room-Temperature Quantum Optomechanics and Free-Electron Quantum Optics
- Jessie Mosso (Prof. R. Gruetter & Dr. C. R. Cudalbu) - New insights into rodent brain microstructure and metabolism in hepatic encephalopathy
In addition, all three laureates have secured a well-deserved place in the Best 8% Distinction of the Doctoral School, to which also belongs:
Sophie Gorno (Ch. Theiler) - Experimental study and interpretative modelling of the Power Exhaust in Configurations with Multiple X-Points in TCV
