Established in 2014, the Physics Doctoral Thesis Award (EDPY Prize) is awarded annually to three doctoral candidates who have produced an outstanding thesis marked by significant advancements in physics.

The Doctoral Program in Physics is thrilled to announce the following 2023 laureates who have been honored with the prize:

  1. Baptiste J. Frei (P. Ricci) - A Gyrokinetic Moment Model of the Plasma Boundary in Fusion Devices
  2. Stefano Falletta (A. Pasquarello) - Self-Interaction and Polarons in Density Functional Theory
  3. Lorenzo Talamanca (F. Naef & P. De Los Rios) - Statistical physics of periodic biological processes

In addition, all three laureates have secured a well-deserved place in the Best 8% Distinction of the Doctoral School. We are pleased to share that:
