11th World Congress in Probability and Statistics

On August 12th, Victor Panaretos, who holds the EPFL chair of mathematical statistics, opened the Bernoulli-IMS (Institute of Mathematical Statistics) 11th World Congress in Probability and Statistics 2024, in his capacity of President of the Bernoulli Society (jointly with Michael Kosorok the president of the IMS).
The World Congress is a week-long meeting, the premier meeting for the stochastics community, bringing together 900 researchers, with 15 plenary lectures, more than 600 talks (invited and contributed) in a total of 170 parallel sessions. This edition of the congress is one of the largest in recent memory.
