"Minergie in the UAE, We are taking advantage of our experiences"
Published:20.01.12 — Jean-Louis Scartezzini, head of EPFL’s Solar Energy and Building Physics Laboratory, is passionate about Minergie—a Swiss label for energy consumption in buildings and the most widely applied building energy standard in the world with almost 20,000 buildings. Working with EPFL Middle East, he hopes to bring Switzerland’s experience in reducing energy consumption in buildings to other parts of the world. A technical but also cultural challenge, we asked Scartezzini to tell us more about it.

Published:11.01.12 — The canton Valais and EPFL (Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) are joining forces to create a permanent academic and scientific endeavor in the canton. The project, entitled “EPFL Valais,” will include the creation and development of eleven research and teaching chairs, in close collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland (HES-SO) Valais Wallis, as well as the local private business community.
