Prof. Xue Feng (University of Minnesota) and Yen-Shuo Huang (PhD student at UCLouvain) are visiting the URBES lab
Xue Feng is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geo- Engineering at the University of Minnesota and an affiliate faculty at the Saint Anthony Falls Laboratory. Her research aims to advance understanding of the interactions between vegetation, climate, and the water cycle, and use it to improve watershed and Earth system modeling. She earned her Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Duke University (2015) and was a postdoc at University of California, Berkeley (2015-2017). She is a recipient of the NOAA Climate and Global Change Postdoctoral Fellowship, a U.S. National Science Foundation CAREER Award, a McKnight Land-Grant Professorship, and the Deborah L. Swackhamer Early Career Award. She has also served as an Associate Editor of Advances in Water Resources (2020 - 2023) and Journal of Hydrology (2020 - 2025).
Yen-Shuo Huang is a PhD student at UCLouvain (Belgium) working under the supervision of Prof. Maider Llaguno Munitxa on the SNF-FNRS Weave project HESTIA - HEat STress Inquiry and Alleviation in Brussels and Lausanne.
