Urs von Gunten, new IIE professor
During its 2010 December 6th and 7th session, the ETH Board appointed Urs von Gunten as EPFL Professor of Drinking Water Treatment at the School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering (ENAC).
Urs von Gunten is currently Adjunct Professor at the ETH Zurich and Deputy Head of the Department of Water Resources and Drinking Water at the Aquatic Research Institute, Eawag, as Full Professor of Drinking Water Purification. Urs von Gunten has won several research prizes and is a recognised specialist in the field of drinking water treatment and water quality analysis.
The chair is jointly financed by EPFL and EAWAG, one of the most reputable research institutes worldwide in the field of water treatment. Dr. von Gunten has a large number of contacts with the water industry and the public services in charge of water provision, in both Switzerland and abroad.
