Two IC Professors appointed by EPF Board of Directors

During their meeting of 28 and 29 September, EPF Board of Directors appointed Prof Matthias Seeger and Prof Matthias Grossglauser in the School of Computer and Communication Sciences (IC), among seven Professors at EPFL.

Among those appointments, Prof Seeger is a new comer on the EPFL campus. Currently Group Leader of an independent research group at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics at Saarland University in Saarbrücken (Germany), he has been appointed at EPFL as Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Information Technology. Matthias Seeger is an internationally acclaimed researcher in the fields of signal processing, information theory and medical imaging, and a pioneer of automatic learning.

Prof Matthias Grossglauser, currently Tenure Track Assistant Professor at the EPFL and a Research Leader at Nokia Research Center Tampere (Finland), has been appointed as Associate Professor of Communication Systems. Matthias Grossglauser is a globally acclaimed information scientist with an excellent record in the field of data mining and with extensive industrial experience. His research focuses on mobile and wireless, as well as social and complex, networks and on communication within such networks.
