Smart, the car manufacturer of the “fortwo” has just announced the new concept "e-Scooter" during the International Motor Show in Paris. A new way to bring closer electrical engine technology and an “user-friendly” Smartphone integration. The originality of this concept is that you have to connect your "Smartphone" to the "e-scooter" to be able to start it. This innovation opens up a whole new perspective in considering the ways smartphones and vehicles may interact in the future.
The green part:
The two-wheeled vehicle is equipped with a small 4kW electric engine in the back wheel. With this technology you will be able to reach the 45 km/h for a distance of 100km. The lithium-ion battery is fully recharged after 3 or 5 hours.
The innovations:
The biggest innovation is that the «e-scooter» is fully controlled by a smart-phone. You will have to install an App developed by Smart to start and read all the information concerning the scooter. This application will act also as a navigation system. An ABS technology, an airbag, LED front and rear lights and a dead-angles detection system are equipping the concept.
