The new portal has three major additions: an administrative guide assembling useful information for everyday questions; a site that’s completely bilingual; and a working group, GT-Admin, that’s dedicated to keeping the site up to date.

On the portal staff, you’ll find news and information that’s regularly updated. Another major change is a guide that brings together practical information, in order to meet two objectives: facilitating the integration of new staff members, and offering administrative information that is needed in staff members’ day-to-day work.

It includes:

- regularly updated staff news
- administrative information grouped by theme and continuously updated
- a completely bilingual site (French-English)
- a dedicated working group, GT-Admin.

The “Power Tips” section groups all the little things that you might not know about, that are hard to classify, but are nonetheless very useful.

This staff portal is built along the lines of the other EPFL online guides: studying.epfl.ch, and teaching.epfl.ch. Everyone searching for information will find an initial level that points them in the right direction in their search. Eleven thematic groups cover all the questions and areas that could concern staff members.

This portal has the continuous support of a dedicated working group, the GT-Admin, whose mission is to suggest improvements and simplifications for EPFL’s administrative procedures.  This group, initiated by Susan Killias, General Counsel, includes 16 staff members working under the leadership of Françoise Alt-Jenny. The group’s composition reflects the diversity of EPFL’s services. In addition, the team can call upon the expertise of specialists in the School depending on the issues it is considering.

The portal is regularly updated. The GT-Admin group meets once a month. The website is discussed in every meeting, and issues that are brought up are immediately implemented on the site. The close contact between the various members lets them make changes at any time. These modifications will be done in both French and English.

It’s also designed to benefit from user feedback. Thematic groups can be added over time. Don’t hesitate to send an e-mail to [email protected] with your ideas, your remarks, and your questions, which are essential to us if we are to improve the site. The GT-Admin group will handle all your requests as quickly as possible.
